Wind Mitigation

Wind Mitigation Inspections:

A Wind Mitigation Inspection is a valuable inspection service that may reduce
your windstorm insurance.

Wind Insurance credits/discounts are available for building features that reduce damage during high wind events. The Wind Mitigation discounts are justified because stronger, more wind-restive structures have lower windstorm losses, which mean reduced costs to insurance companies. Most existing structures have one or more wind restive construction features and may qualify for some Wind Mitigation insurance discounts.

Wind Mitigation Inspections are available for all single family homes, townhouses,
condos and commercial buildings. Homeowner and Condo Associations also qualify for wind mitigation credits.

Insurance companies in Florida are required to recognize submitted Wind Inspections performed by qualified personnel and will provide discounts based on the construction and/or mitigation features of your home.

Q: What is Wind Mitigation?

A: The state of Florida REQUIRES Insurance Companies to offer reduced rates on Windstorm Insurance for certain hurricane resistant features. We will inspect the features present in your home and produce a windstorm mitigation inspection report for you in order to obtain your WINDSTORM MITIGATION CREDITS from your insurance agent.

Q: What is a Wind Mitigation Inspection?

A: A Wind Mitigation inspection is a valuable service that may reduce your windstorm insurance premium. During the inspection we look for certain items on your home that were installed to help reduce the impact of a storm to your home. Wind Mitigation is a not an all or nothing inspection. The wind resistant features that are installed on your home you will get the discount/credit. The wind resistant features that are not installed you will not get the discounts/credits. The discounts/credits are located in your attic as well as the exterior portion of your roof and shutters.

We also provide four point inspections including roof, electric, ventilation, and plumbing.

Q: Do I need to have hurricane shutters to qualify for these discounts/credits?

A: No. Many other construction features can also qualify.

Q: What are you going to inspect and how long does the inspection take?

A: Our licensed Inspectors will only inspect the items and construction features

specifically listed on your insurance carrier’s windstorm mitigation form
(nothing else is inspected or reported to the insurance company). Since we already
work with every major insurance carrier in Florida, the odds are we already have the
forms you need. The entire inspection will only take between 20 and 30 minutes at most.
